The oldest recorded cocktail in history is an old fashioned, created in 1880. That being said, in 1896 when Uncle John finished a hard day’s work in his rice field, we are pretty sure he may have had a vodka old fashioned. This cocktail pays homage to Uncle John and the birth of J.T. Meleck.
Of course, an old fashioned is normally made with whiskey, but since we make vodka here at JT Meleck Distillers, we thought we’d give a vodka old fashioned a try, and we liked it!
Vodka Old Fashioned Ingredients
2 oz. J.T. Meleck Vodka
1 tsp. simple syrup
2 dashes Peychauds bitters
1 dash orange bitters
finish with an orange twist
